What used to be Helsinki’s former harbor has been transformed into “The Smart City of Tomorrow”. The neighborhood of Kalasatama is changing quickly, offering modern housing with intelligent living solutions, as well as a developing business district. With the construction being fully completed around 2030, its population is predicted to grow from roughly 2500 inhabitants at present to 25 000 in the future. Looking at such potential, our client, the housing company Vahanen asked us to help develop a concept that would build the “Kalasatama spirit” by inspiring and empowering its residents.
